Who is LYRIC? Since 1988, LYRIC has been an unmatched force supporting and empowering lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth to build community and promote positive social and economic change. We do this through leadership development, youth employment and career training, access to health services and one-on-one case management, community building groups and school day classes. Typically, LYRIC reaches over 1,200 LGBTQQ and ally youth each year through direct services, and over 3,000 youth through our peer-led outreach efforts. LYRIC’s holistic, unique programming model supports LGBTQQ youth at every level—individually, interpersonally, in community—to directly confront the barriers they face in transitioning successfully to healthy adulthood. LYRIC is one of the oldest, longest-standing LGBTQQ youth organizations in the United States, and remains San Francisco’s only agency specifically serving LGBTQQ youth.
